My name is Jeff Smoley and I have been collecting computers, fixing and refurbishing them as an individual for years. However, in 2008, I was not able to collect very many, most likely due to the economy.

I decided to officially start Komputers For Kids, so it could be incorporated as a non-profit. However, I have found that this would be fairly expensive and I am putting my money into needed parts to fix the computers I have collected. I hope to be able to get more computers into the hands of needy children and children's charities.

I want to thank all of you who donated computers, printers etc. I hope you can keep us in mind and ask your friends and the companies you do business with to help.

The name is mis-spelled because this was the only web site name available. There are others in the US, Canada and other countries doing the same. There is also someone who has registered a name and is just parking it. Donate it and take the tax deduction, please. Non-profits want to use any money they collect to help people, not buy domain names.

If you are not in the south Florida area, please check to see if there is someone or an organization near you that can use your old computers. This is a much better use than dumping them in a landfill,
